Battery-backed save loss
Modchip / ODESave battery / FRAM mod

Two upgrades that make the SNK Neo Geo CD much more liveable: an SD loader for the games and an F-RAM upgrade to kill off the battery dependency for saves.

SD Loader

Neo Geo CD SD Loader by Furrtek, a drop-in replacement that lets the Neo Geo CD load games from an SD card instead of physical discs. Mine was bought from the PhenomMod store, since I missed the last batch Furrtek ever made.

@furrtek's Neo Geo CD SD loader kicking ass! Thanks for designing this and thank you to @PhenomMod for making the kit. This makes the console even more awesome to me. #retrogames #NEOGEO #console

Neo Geo CD F-RAM upgrade worked a treat. Thanks @Lain32_ for sharing this info. Mine wasn't keeping the battery charged even with a new one. This fixed the issue and actually improved functionality. Great tip! 👍#RETROGAMING #SNK #NeoGeo
