Full treatment for a Japanese Sega Master System MK-2000 belonging to a friend: new caps, 7805 voltage regulator, thermal paste, cleaned connectors and controllers. Sent on its way looking and playing like new.

Open it up and naturally it's dusty, so to the bath it is for the shell.

Replaced all the capacitors and reflowed most of the solder joints on the system. Also replaced the voltage regulator and thermal paste. Additionally, cleaned all the connectors and applied deoxit.

Cleaned the controllers as well and then reassembled everything. Looks much nicer now. Time to move on to testing.

Finally, the reward for all the hard work. Playing a bit of Alex Kidd in Miracle World, R-Type, Streets of Rage II and Monster Boy III. Going to apply some protectant and then we're done with this one. 😉 #RetroGaming #AlexKidd #streetsofrage #RTYPE #MonsterBoy
