Sony — PVM-9040
Three 9" PVM-9040s that arrived from Japan with a side of customs drama and a box that had been treated very unkindly. The monitors themselves were fine inside, bar a known colour issue fixed by replacing the trim pots, which fixes the issue of only displaying in black and white. Full restoration across all three followed.

New @Buyee arrival today. I got these 3 nice 9" PVMs. Sadly not all went well and I had issues with customs. More o this and their state below. 🧵👇#RETROGAMING #CRT
Customs wanted me to justify the price, even though I supplied all relevant documents. Not being able to fleece me on that they then decided to flag these for physical control and hold them for a week. More fees. Box arrived beat up no expanding foam, never happened before.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say Buyee packed them with expandable foam as usual but customs removed it and chucked it out after "inspection". With physical control, they fleeced me for these 2 BS additional fees.
When I got the box from the delivery man I could tell the monitors were just rolling around inside the box. Fortunately, nothing major broke but one of the outer shells has a pretty big dent on it. It stretches outwards if you unscrew the screws on the case. Thanks @AUT_TRIB_ADUA
As for their condition, the tubes seem fine. The one I opened up didn't even have a spec of dust but they all have colour issues. Which is a known issue that is fixable by replacing some potentiometers. You can check out @usa_retro's YouTube videos on the fix.
