Nintendo — New 3DS XL
Three handhelds bought on eBay in 2020 to learn on. The New 2DS XL only needed its connectors reseating, while the 2DS and the New 3DS XL both needed screen replacements, the 3DS XL top screen being much the harder job, with corrosion and a break turning up on a flex cable along the way. All were put back to working order and given CFW, and two went on to new owners.
In 2020, when I was starting out, I bought some DS consoles on eBay to try and repair. A 2DS a New 3DS XL and a New 2DS XL. This last one, only really needed re-seating connectors to power one. The others had broken screens.
The 2DS was pretty straightforward but the New 3DS XL was a hog, at least for replacing the top screen. Nevertheless, I managed to fumble my way through it. In the process I found what looked like corrosion on one of the flex cables but also, a break on one of them.
Anyway, after replacing the screens, I got both consoles back to working order and then proceeded to install CFW, as you can tell from the custom themes. This particular 3DS would eventually make it's way to a new owner, my friend @madebyluis.bsky.social.
Oh and the 2DS too, it found a new owner as well, my friend @kollerbrg.bsky.social.
