Nintendo — Game Boy Advance
Companion mod to the Game Boy Color, done about three weeks later in June 2020. FunnyPlaying IPS kit fitted, with the flex cable soldered from the board test points across to the pads. Moved out of its Glacier shell into a grey RetroSix shell with a glass lens so the original stayed uncut, then finished with a rechargeable battery mod.
Since I had done the Game Boy Color, I couldn't just leave the Game Boy Advance be so, I modded it too.
I installed the flex cable for the FunnyPlaying IPS kit and soldered up the wires from the relevant test points, to the pads.
It originally came in a Glacier shell and since I don't like cutting up original shells, I transplanted it into an aftermarket shell. I also put in a glass lens on this one too.
Seen here in full glory, next to its GBC companion. The keen-eyed among you might notice an LED glow on the underside and a USB cable sticking into it. That's from the rechargeable battery mod. I played Minish Cap to completion on it and loved it. Bonus Tetris DX shot.
