RGB mod on an early Nintendo 64 (NUS-001) NTSC-J. Used a self-assembled Borti4938-based RGB amp by TzorriMahm and the FT-N64-Buddy-Long-Board by FragolRoc. The early NTSC-J boards still have the RGB lines on the multi-out, making them the easiest N64 variant to RGB-mod.
RGB amp PCB
N64 RGB Amp by TzorriMahm, a Borti4938-based design. Board assembled by me.
FT N64 Buddy Long Board
FT-N64-Buddy-Long-Board by FragolRoc for cleaner integration of the RGB amp into the N64 multi-out.
Crispy RGB on the N64 courtesy of a sharing community! Thanks @borti4938 and @TzorriMahm for publishing the PCB for the RGB amp which allowed me to order and assemble it myself. Also to @FragolRoc for publishing the buddy long board PCB. Using a @retro_cables RGB cable to test.
Assembling another #Nintendo 64 RGB amp. Photo 1 - PCB slathered with flux paste and components placed. Photo 2 - components in their places post hot air rework session. Photo 3 - video IC installed and PCB cleaned with isopropyl. #consolemodding #RETROGAMING
