Sony — BVM-9045QD
Arrived from Japan with an entire colour missing, the same broken neckboard solder joint that had plagued the M4J. A full restoration followed: PSU, deflection board, colour board and anode cap all seen to.

The other day I opened up the PSU on my #Sony BVM-9045QD and found that the big cap was bulging a lot. I ordered up some caps that arrived today so I went ahead and recapped it. Looking much better now. #CRT #restoration
Tested it for an 1h with some #Nintendo 64 playing #SuperMario 64 and some #SegaGenesis #MegaDrive #Castlevania Bloodlines. Also reflowed the solder one the inputs or the input board as I suddenly had no red and I had already fixed that on the neck board. All good. #RETROGAMING
Continuing with the theme, I figured I may as well recap the deflection board, to replace the caps that usually go bad (marked with -). New ones marked with ·. Made a slight misjudgement by not measuring the caps, the 1000uF I bought for a different project, turned out a tad big.
Ended up reflowing most of the joints on the D board, seems to be a common theme on my Sony acquisitions.

For the final steps I decided to reflow the colour board while I waited for the super glue to dry out and also, apply dielectric grease to the anode cap. #Sony #BVM #CRT #restoration
