Sega — Mega-CD 2
A dead Mega-CD 2 that turned out to have a single blown fuse. Fuse replaced, region-free BIOS installed, and then fully recapped in a follow-up session. Also tidied up some interesting factory bodge cap placements along the way.
🧵Mega drive 2 working fine, Mega-CD2 no signs of life. After some cleaning I got it to be detected by the Everdrive but every time I try to boot to it, I get a black screen. #RETROGAMING
Opened it up, found a few interesting capacitor placements. I don't know if this is standard. @A3rgan do you know? Anyway, turned out the problem was F301 being dead. Broke it during extraction, quite easily. #RETROGAMING #Sega

Starting off the week with some #Sega #MegaCD 2 maintenance. Full capacitor replacement, complete with improvement of factory bodge capacitor placements. At least IMO it looks nicer, stealthier. Test play of #snatcher and also Lords of Thunder. #RETROGAMING
