Reconfiguring this Ikegami for European mains voltage turned out to be a research project in its own right. The service manual doesn't make it obvious; the community came through. Also: these fuses are apparently sensitive to mechanical shock.
(1/2) New arrivals from Japan via @SendicoOfficial. A bunch of light guns for #PlayStation and a fight stick. Some #Nintendo controllers for some mates. Finally, the cherry atop the cake, some 9" CRT monitors. #Sony and #Ikegami. #RETROGAMING #CRT
(2/2) Lovely 450TVL Ikegami TM10-17RA working fine and a "dead" Sony BVM-D9H5J, with a BKM-127W card. Wanted that so I can use S-video and composite on my BVM-D14H1E. The D9 powers on, the tube builds up static but there's no display. #RETROGAMING #CRT #Sony #BVM #Ikegami #Sega
Monitor cleaning day! It was fairly clean but cleaner is better. Also applied dielectric grease to the anode cap. In picture 3 you can see the inside of the tube's neck glowing. Last pic is a close up of the shadow mask scanlines. #RETROGAMING #Nintendo #N64 #CRT #Ikegami
(1/2) Aperture grille vs shadow mask. Sony vs Ikegami. Which do you like best? #RETROGAMING #Nintendo #CRT
(2/2) Sleepy Mario is pondering on his choice of favourite type of CRT mask.
@usa_retro or @dorksince93 either of you ever work on an Ikegami TM10-17RA? Do you know where this fabled switch for the input voltage is? I’ve looked through the board visually and through the service manual and I can’t find it. Only found a jumper (EL401) but seems unrelated.
(1/2) Special thanks to @TommyBurazin for the back and forth trying to understand how to reconfigure the PSU on this Ikegami TM10-17RA to accept 200-240V as input voltage. For those wondering, check F101 rating and remove J101 between the two large caps. #RETROGAMING #Sega #CRT
(2/2) Switched the position of the plate on the to indicate the voltage mode it's in. @usa_retro and @dorksince93 if you have any international customers requesting this change, know you know. Maybe this can be added to the CRT Database, I can supply pics. #CRT #Castlevania
Yesterday... I "burned" a fuse... My Ikegami slid on top another monitor and the bottom of the case hit the other monitor's case. It wouldn't power on after that. First time I caused a fuse to break with mechanical shock. Fixed now. #RETROGAMING #CRT #repair #Sega ##Castlevania
