Retrobrighted over a couple of sessions and then brought up to the same standard as the rest of the fleet. It had a very dark hue so it's definitely better than it was.
Day 1 with previously used hydrogen peroxide. @A3rgan This technique is really something. I don't know how degraded the H2O2 already was but it still had quite an effect. Trying again tomorrow with the same liquid again. #RETROGAMING #retrobrighting
Day 2, made a difference but not as much as I was hoping for. Since most of this hydrogen peroxide has gone through 4 cycles. Maybe it's time to get some new one. #RETROGAMING #retrobrighting
Gamecube and Saturn complete, mistakes were made but, both are definitely better than they were. #RETROGAMING #Sega #Nintendo #retrobrighting
(1/5) Gamecube maintenance day. Replacing the caps on the optical drive PCBs. Started 4/5 drives dead, now 5/5 work. Huge success! Thanks @leonkiriliuk, I think it was in one of his posts that I read that the laser isn't usually the issue, it's the caps. #RETROGAMING #restoration
(2/5) These 3 just needed the capacitors replaced and they immediately started working fine. #RETROGAMING #Nintendo #CRT
(5/5) One big happy family. All of them now have working drives! #RETROGAMING #Nintendo #gamecube #restoration #repair
Finally the last one is done, all standard GameCubes fully recapped. Only missing the Panasonic Q now. That'll be a project for another time. Testing with Luigi's Mansion, I've if my favourite games on the system. Still looks amazing. #RETROGAMING #Nintendo #GameCube #Luigi
