Brought a used Yamaha FX370C up to a much better state with fret cleaning, lemon oil on the fretboard and a new set of strings. Was sceptical it would turn out well, but pleasantly surprised.
/6 I bought myself a used guitar. It was not in tip top shape but it was a reasonable deal and a good upgrade from the one I started on many years ago. It's a Yamaha FX370C and this thread shows how I brought it back to a better state. Keep reading👇 #guitar #yamaha
/6 These are the materials I used. 0000 steel wool and fret guards to get rid of the oxidation on the frets. A Dunlop cleaning kit with ultimate lemon oil (for the fretboard and bridge) and guitar polish and clean (for the body). Some new D'Addario strings to finish it off.
/6 Removing the old oxidated strings so I can use a fret guard and the steel wool to remove the oxidation from the frets.
/6 Applying the ultimate lemon oil to clean the fret board and bridge. This worked really well all the stain spots on the wood of the fret board disappeared.
/6 Applying the polish to finish off the cleaning. A fair bit of elbow grease went into this.
/6 Restringed and ready to go. I was a bit sceptical at first but it turned out really well. It looks really nice and plays very well.
