Modded my classic OSSC to accept newer firmware, and experimented with a PC Engine-specific build that tries to emulate the composite colour palette on RGB.
1/2 I've been delaying this for long enough. Today was the day. I decided to pick up my OSSC classic and mod it so I can use the latest firmware. It's hard to argue with the OSSC in terms of bang for the buck. Amazing what such an old device can do. Check below #OSSC #RetroGaming
2/2 Here are some pictures of me testing it in 1440p. Third picture has HDR, VRR and PVM scanline post-processing. The fourth one is without any of that. #MegaDrive #Earthion
Testing a new interesting firmware for the OSSC that will do something cool for all the PC Engine fans out there. I'm trying to help out the developer of the firmware. #RETROGAMING #pcengine
this link will take you to the thread where he reaches out for help testing.
Interesting result, obviously it's very early stage and WIP. I for one hope he pursues this. It would be cool to get something resembling the composite palette in RGB. The fact that this firmware can just be sideloaded onto the OSSC with the latest firmware makes this even better
This is just me playing around with settings.
